Analy Fall Festival: Friday, October 22; Afternoon TBA; 7/8 Band

The Hillcrest 7/8 Band will perform at the Analy Fall Festival on Friday, October 22 at 4 PM. Students will travel by bus to and from the performance. The performance will be in the Analy High School auditorium and is open to the public. Several parent chaperons will be needed, so please consider volunteering. Students should be practicing BLACK FOREST OVERTURE and DISTANT VOICES in preparation for this performance.

Jazz Band & String Ensemble begin

Tuesday, Sep. 6 @ 8:00 AM is the first jazz band rehearsal. All 7-8
band students are welcome. 6th graders must be approved by Mr. Fichera.

Wednesday, Sep. 7 @ 8:00 AM is the first string ensemble rehearsal.
This group is open to students in grade 6-8 with previous experience
in violin, viola, cello or bass.

Welcome Back!

The school year is off to a great start! The 6th, 7th and 8th grade
bands began rehearsing this week and it promises to be a year of great
music making at Hillcrest.

Rose Parade, Saturday, May 15, 2010

The 6-8 marching band will participate in the Rose Parade in downtown Santa Rosa on Saturday, May 15.  Students will meet at Hillcrest Middle School at 8:30 AM where they will get on buses then travel together to the parade.  Students will arrive back at school at 12:30 PM.  The band will be in uniform.  Please return the permission slip that has been sent home. 

Congratulations Marching Band

I am sincerely proud of all students and families who participated in the Hillcrest marching unit in yesterday's Apple Blossom Parade.  The students demonstrated their outstanding musical abilities and exemplary behavior while parents provided essential support in preparation.  We received the following awards from the parade judging committee:

Band: First Place

Flag Team: First Place

Drum Major: Third Place

The marching unit will also be participating in the Rose Parade in downtown Santa Rosa on Saturday, May 15.  Please expect details regarding that parade in the coming weeks.

Apple Blossom Parade - Saturday, April 24

The 6-8 grade marching band will be performing in the Apple Blossom
Parade on Saturday, April 24 in downtown Sebastopol. Students are to
arrive in front of the cafeteria at Analy High School at 8:30 AM.
Students should be dressed in their band uniforms and will receive
their bow ties and cumber buns on site. Instruments should be out of
the case upon arrival. The parade will conclude at Calder Ave. near
S. Main at approximately 10:45 AM. Please plan to meet your student
at the end of the parade route.

Music Man Jr. - March 25 & March 26 @ 6 PM

The Hillcrest spring musical production is approaching! Tickets will be available March 1 at the Hillcrest office or from cast members. Don't miss your chance to see this classic musical presented by the talented students of the Hillcrest drama department.
